Carolin is an attorney-at-law and mediator with offices in Switzerland and Germany. On the basis of her international experience, she is practicing worldwide, mainly in the field of international law, but she also takes on selected cases related to German, Swiss and European law. Prior to founding her own practice, Carolin worked with an international law firm in Geneva. She has also served as a legal adviser with the International Committee of the Red Cross (headquarters and field) and with the Legal Section of the United Nations Office in Geneva. She is a co-author of the study on “Customary international humanitarian law” (Cambridge University Press, 2005: https://www.icrc.org/en/war-and-law/treaties-customary-law/customary-law) and has contributed to a commentary on the law of the European Union, including on the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. Carolin has lectured in international law, including at the University of Konstanz, Zeppelin University, and Folke Bernadotte Academy.
